Biography
Earthcloud, founded in 2010 in St. Petersburg, Russia by Max Dementev, embarked on their musical journey with English as their primary language.
Originally named The Good News, the band underwent a name change due to existing rights and emerged as Earthcloud.
In its infancy, the group comprised only two members: vocalist and guitarist, Max Dementiev, and bassist, Alexander Popov.
Before 2012, the band played at an amateur level, with only two permanent members: vocalist and guitarist Max Dementev and bassist Alexander Popov. However, their persistence paid off in 2013 when they participated in the Emergenza international festival with drummer Vsevolod Poluhin, reaching the finals in their city and clinching second place by audience choice.
That summer, they rocked the stage at the neighboring world festival in Crimea, followed by a winter performance at the Nord Session festival in Kostomuksha.
However, a hiatus ensued as the band paused rehearsals and performances, gathering sporadically for practice sessions. Max’s relocation to Istanbul in 2022, due to his firm stance against the war in Ukraine, further disrupted the band’s activities. Yet, in 2023, Max reignited his musical passion, flooding social media platforms with captivating cover videos, actively engaging with the band’s followers.
Looking ahead to 2024, Earthcloud anticipates the release of singles and possibly a new album, promising an exciting continuation of their musical odyssey.
Throughout their evolution, Earthcloud’s music has embodied the essence of classic hard rock, blending electrifying guitar riffs with thought-provoking philosophical lyrics. Their compositions delve into the depths of human experience, exploring themes of existentialism and introspection, while delivering an invigorating sonic experience that resonates with audiences worldwide.
Throughout the years, Earthcloud underwent drummer rotations until Dmitry Fytov, Max’s school friend, solidified the position in 2017. Their debut LP recording commenced, but not without hurdles. Dmitry’s departure in October forced Max to rework the drum tracks, enlisting the expertise of studio sound engineer Nikita Psarev. Despite the challenges, December marked the release of their eponymous album, receiving praise from dedicated fans but not gaining widespread recognition.
Undeterred, Max embarked on a promotional spree over the next two years, distributing their music to renowned musicians like Nalle Påhlsson from Therion, Ross the Boss of Manowar fame, Mick Box from Uriah Heep, Adam Wakeman, and even Johnny Depp. In 2018, Earthcloud staged several solo concerts, featuring former Night Snipers drummer Dmitry Gorelov and keyboardist Jora Hvoyny.
